Seattle Dormer Addition - master suite remodel Seattle

It was a classic Craftsman with classic problems: a previous addition at the rear of the home left it lopsided and diminished its grace.  The brilliance of this addition and remodel is that it restores symmetry by adding a second dormer and bringing out the gable end by several feet.  At the same time, it creates much-needed functional space at the main level in the form of a powder bath and laundry, and a spacious new master suite at the second floor. Completed 2008.

project features

  • The goal of the project was to bring balance to the roof line, adding a new dormer on the right side
  • The master suite is more room - first by adding the closet dormer and second by widening the entire room by 3 feet
  • The old-fashioned tile compliments the Carrera marble counters - pillow-style subway tile and flowery hex floor tile
