basement remodel
Finishing out the basement was high on the list of priorities after purchasing this West Seattle property as a retirement home. A treacherous stair, a very narrow driveway and visible water infiltration were among the design challenges overcome in the process. Adding a “short” main floor coat closet allowed for a comfortable new stair. A robust drainage system under the slab whisked away the water, and a widened driveway now allows the car door to actually open when parked there. Wins all around with this beautifully finished basement space. Completed 2021.
