daylight basement

We've built out our share of basements and this is one of our favorites. A West Seattle spec home had a completely unfinished basement/garage area. We walled off the space, installed new windows to match the configuration of ones upstairs, built in a desk and finished out the walls with bead board wainscoting. It was supposed to be a playroom for the kids, but we think Dad may get a little use out of it too. Completed 2009.

The basement remodel seattle is now truly a daylight basement. A bank of windows provides a view of the back yard and brings in ample light to this new living space

Custom built in place, the cabinet doubles as a computer station. The door to the left opens up to a mechanical closet, with furnace and hot water heater.

The new doors to a storage room and the garage match the ones upstairs, and the beadboard wainscot runs on two walls, echoing the design of the cabinet.

This basement room becomes a media room as well, with all of the bells and whistles required for the flat screen and low voltage accessories.
